An archer clearly can't start aiming until she sees the target. A Hunter might be able to start gaining tokens before her foes arrive...if she arrives on the battlefield first, and can start studying. I like the way that this rewards preparation and steering an encounter such as to get time to prepare unseen.

What about a Dedicate? Can she stand outside the door, focusing her mind (and collecting tokens), without knowing what's inside? Flavorwise it makes sense...but is it balanced? Being able to start an encounter with a full pool more often seems like a big advantage. When you've GM'd/played Dedicates where did you draw the line as to when one could gain a benefit from starting to accumulate tokens?

Thanks,
