Thus in the first exchange, the party follows the commotion and comes upon a flaming man in a busy street who seems panicked and running around looking for help. . After observing the events for several rounds, (including witnessing one man die from the flames and another catch fire when the flaming man ran up to him pleading for help, the cleric entered and tried to use his cloak to put out the flames. As a result, the cleric gets burned, and then uses hold person to contain the man, who he observes to be taking no damage from the flames. Immediately after the man is held, the cleric pulls out his pistol and kills the man (Coup de Grace) with a shot to the head.
I know the module says that the pcs get full exp for "defeating" these events regardless of their method, but I still am having some questions on how I should approach this action that was taken by the cleric.
I don't necessarily want to pull out a hammer and swat him, however I feel that his execution of a individual who may or may not have been innocent (the cleric and the rest of the party wasn't sure at first) may not really be appropriate of a LN deity or his devoted follower.
I'm not sure if I should let this slide, as I honestly don't feel this is behavior befitting a lawful cleric. I'm torn, as I want the players to have fun and am usually not an alignment nazi, but certain actions such as killing an individual who is helpless, and was previously asking for help, even if you did get burned while responding seems like its a stretch.
