Spellplague, that half-vampire web feature, and a 3rd party Noble class I have are all "classes" that exist only for the multiclass option.
I wonder if something similar could be done for familiars and mounts. It would take a feat or two to get the semi leveled creature (and a ritual for bringing them back to life). They would obey standard mount/companion rules for actions.
The feat for mounts would require Mounted Combat so it's 2 feats before power swapping feats come into play.
Familiars would require training in arcana, and... ?
Standard multiclass power swap feats would allow you to take powers that utilized your familiar/mount.
Similarly, maybe an extra multiclass related feat tied to rangers would let you gets weaker animal companion and the existing beastlord ranger powers would allow you to get some use from it. Maybe merge this into the familiar designs?
