Veins of the Earth Campaign |

After reading MattF's campign journal for Monte's underdark campaign, I was curious if at some point in the future we could expect to see this
published as a new Malhavoc product? Obviously weve seen parts of this campaign already with the BoXM and the free Earth Blood download. I think it would be
cool to have the rest as well. An interesting idea would be if it was published as a pdf in serial format. so every couple of months (or whatever time frame
allows Monte to do his normal work) we could have one adventuring site, or campaign element (new feats, adventure seeds and rumours, npc's or what hvave
you). Is this something that we could hope for at all, or am I dreaming?

You're not dreaming. It could happen.

I know that most people already know this, especially the people on the forums here, but to be bluntly honest, the best stuff you have released is the material
that was stolen directly from your game sessions Monte. I honestly believe that anything you put together that uses your real life game as a beta center will
be received with great rejoicing.
You give yourself a boost, and help the rest of the planet better enjoy one of their most passionate hobbies.

Hmm. I'd be hard pressed to think of something in recent years that doesn't fit that description. But thanks. |

Wicked!
In the mean time I will be looking forward to the new Ptolus adventure and getting the hardcover version of BoXM! |

I say we keep Monte retired from gaming for good - his output for the hobby since he did has been AMAZING!!
Sign me up for this - but is it too early to ask if it will be a campaign setting type thing, or more along the lines of BoXM for added rules? Sounding like setting, which would be cool - getting to see Monte's version of the Underdark!!!! |

You're easy to please. I wrote 2 game books in the two years, and they were both small. |

Hey I'll take quality over quantity any day of the week!

When you produce one book a year for an industry you've quit - that's pretty amazing.
Plus, ya know, the quality thing mentioned. Oh and BOXM, BOXM2, EarthBlood & an upcoming Ptolus adventure makes 4. Rory |

Yeah, what they all said ;-)
But no, it is what I have said in other threads - it is just that what you are putting out lately seems more for the love of the game more than "Hey we need to publish SOMETHING" and it shows. Now if I could just move to Wisconsin and wrangle a seat at your game... hey, I would love to be in on the beta-testing!!!! Best wishes in the New Year- H |

Wow. and YES! | ||

I actually came here to post a similar hope (that we might see a book...or print on demand?...based on the underdark campaign) after reading KQ. Then I saw
this post.
I just want to add that 3e has continuously surprised Wolfgang Baur with its' level of support. I know I'd jump at a Monte Cook underdark campaign...with drow done right. DROOOOOL |

Hey drow were done right in "Night Below"! Carl Sargent killed 'em off before the adventure started.
As for a Monte Underdark campaign, I'm agreed, of course: I would certainly buy a copy. Monte did give us the caves under Ptolus, but if Monte thinks he can top that... |

I think one of the best marketing tactics used to promote D&D lately has been the Penny Arcade podcasts. Not only does it market the product, but it
illustrates how the game is played and is entertaining. Why not podcast Veins of Earth campaign, or at least a few episodes of it?

If this were done, Monte, how would you go about replacing the non-OGL elements like mind flayers and (from more recent postings) githyanki?

Good question. It would be hard. I guess I'd just avoid them altogether or create analogues.
