on page 202 it says:
Quote: Shouldnt it be Spells that are 10th level? Trancendence: (Requirements for the Eldritch Blade are): Level 3: Charisma 17,.. Level 4: Charisma 15,.. Level 5: Charisma 17,.. Shouldnt this be 15 for Level 3 and 17 for level 4 & 5? Nice we found this one. Should we place Trancendence Errata here, too? Regards

All classes (execpt the PrCs) list that you add your Intelligence bonus to your skill points instead of your Intelligence modifier.
In the minor nit-pick catagory: The words Chapter Seven: were left out of the bookmark for Chapter Seven: Playing the Game. |

Transcendance Totem Speaker
|
Under spells (pg 17) it says Totem speakers have access to simple spells. They also gain access to other types of spells depending on the sorts of animal forms they master.
Nowhere else in the class does it mention mastering animal forms or how its done or what spells you gain by it. The closest you get is Totem Traits and none of them are explicitly linked with an animal form or mastering it. Was something perhaps forgotten or changed? |

That line was supposed to come out of the book Mike said. It was an idea that he dropped from the final version.

DMG constant stat-boosting items (allowed or not?)
|
There is a contradiction that requires clarification or errata...
AE page 216 lists an example of acceptable DMG items, including "gauntlets of ogre power." Runis of Intrigue page 35 has an NPC Xarthran, that has a "headband of intellect +2" in his listed gear. These are both AE books. Clearly, these are both DMG items that are constant effects which boost your stats. AE page 215 suggests converting effects from DMG items that appear as a different version in AE (example being "haste" into "speed burst"). I believe "ability boost" spell in AE is the effect that most closely matches the effect of the DMG stat-boosting items. That spell (both lesser and greater) has "Constant N/A" listed for "Magic Item Creation Modifier." AE page 202 says "N/A" means the spell cannot be placed into a constant item, and further gives an example of "Constant N/A" means you cannot create a constant item with that spell. It then even includes a note which says, "DMs may allow spells marked 'Constant N/A' to be made into daily-use constant items but never always-active ones." Call me crazy, but this seems utterly clear that Constant N/A was never meant to be always-active - yet I've found two examples above from the game creators that break that rule. Personally, I want to follow the concept on page 202. But, an official comment would be helpful. |

Constant N/A has two meanings. One is items that just plain aren't allowed as constant. The other is items that have standard formula that apply. Ability score increases have a standard formula, as do save bonuses, armor bonuses, attack/damage bonuses, skill bonuses, and a few more.
Perhaps a better identification would be "Constant: Standard Formula Applies" Frank |

Spell Templaets: Runic states that a character can gain access to this by being a Rune Lord; the description of the Rune Lord does not mention this at all.
I don't know which way to go on this one. |

As I noted in another thread, Touch of Weakness is listed as Instantaneous duration, but that doesn't make sense with the spell description, especially since changing the Duration to instantaneous is supposed to be the Heightened benefit. (Part of this problem was noted in an earlier post in this thread - the Heightened effect - but the problem is actually worse than that post made it out to be; the spell description simply makes no sense as written.)

Actually, the book says you get the Runic template from the Runcaster feat, 1st level Runethane, or being a Runelord.

On the other hand, a few others such as the Unfettered's Blade Saint levels explicitly state that you have to have the previous level to get the next one. Therefore, these Eldrich Blade levels can be taken out of order, or even piecemeal. It's perfectly permissable for a character to only have Level 4, for instance. Therefore, perhaps the replacement levels which do not have the previous one as a prereq could better have been given letters, or some other denotation in order to better differentiate. For instance, "I took Eldrich Blade level D," or "Eldrich Blade Level IV," instead of "I took Level 4." Or something along those lines. |
