.pdf Updates for Non-Windows Users

It seems the only updaters are PC .exe files. Am I out of luck? Is this the price I pay for my choice of platform? Admittedly, I do have a PC, but I only use it for PC games, I do all my actual work on a Mac.

If anyone can point me to some such software (I have had no luck finding any, myself), I would be happy to try it out. --Al V.
