Posts: 1 (03/03/08 20:59:32) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None I just started running Iron Heroes and it is going pretty good so far, but I have a question and have tried to look it up but couldn't find it. Does casting spells take any vebal or gestures to do? Or can the people see energy when the caster casts? I couldn't find it so far and if there was not any way to tell when someone is casting I dont see why people would even fear casting in public. Any answers would be appreciated.

For those playing at home, the answer is "No, there are no verbal or somatic components necessary." I know I greatly preferred adding them when I played, though. Posts: 2 (03/04/08 10:30:29) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Sorry I guess what I really would like to know is does spell casting manifest itself in a way to show other pc or npc's what is going on ie: (The necromancer raises undead zombie does a tendrill of black energy come forth or does the necromancer just look at it and it raises). Just wondering because if it has no components and no visible trace to the necromancer why would he ever be afraid to cast in public the people would just think that they had a zombie problem..(this got into an argument last night) this is why I ask. thanks

So you, the character, don't have to make any actions or say any special words or anything. The game doesn't specify any visual or auditory manifestations, so they're up to you. However, to raise a corpse you have to be within range for a full minute, concentrating, so it'd at least be a little obvious... I was running it that way but some other pc's (who in character hate magic) argued that there should be something, I said I knew where to ask and I'd get back with them. by the way my game is going pretty good so far (4 sessions in and everyone seems to be having fun).
