I love the game, its been a fun one. I like most of the changes from the last FF game i'd played (which was 8. I didn't finish it because I hated, I mean HATED the main character I was forced to play. Did I mention I loathed him? Anyway) but why, oh why don't they let you save more often? Especially later in the game where you actually meet creatures that might TPK you. Nothing upsets me more than having invested 1.5 hours going from previous save to next save point (fighting a HUGE amount of random encounters. I know i can avoid them by equipping certain items, but i need XP too!) only to have a battle turn badly (namely Auron getting confused and slaying the other 2 people) and getting a game over. And having to do it all, AGAIN!!! This is why it's taken me months to work through the game. This will happen and I won't play again for a week or two.
Now, like I said, sometimes its my fault for a variety of reasons, but I don't understand why in some parts of the game they space them so widely! It drives me insane! The worst though was when I'd spent 1.5 hours building up experience and was racing back to save, and we have a minor power surge, resets the PSII and leaves me cursing at the TV. It was a month before I could play again.
So, a rant about a non-new game, but geez is it frustrating. Such a fun game too. (Though I'm still up in the air on how much I like the whole "choose your own path" leveling up.) Man, I'm glad there's a place for this! I feel better already. (For some reason my non-gamer why just looks at me oddly when I'm screaming at the TV.)
