Re: Airwalking  (reply)
The answer the question, for me, also relies on who is doing the tripping, and to whom is being tripped. If it's a DM's attempt to screw with players, I'd come down more heavily on the 'this shouldn't happen' side. If it's PC's trying...

Re: Airwalking  (reply)
An interesting point, though of course, that statement does not mention being knocked down or going prone in regards to possible effects.  Additionally, reading the rules on weather, they do go out of their way to mention both...

Re: Airwalking  (reply)
I would disagree with tripping or knocked prone causing them to fall based on my reading of the spell - specifically from the text of the second paragraph which reads in part, "The creature can, at the DM's option, be subject to...

Re: Airwalking  (reply)
No.  I just don't think that could be correct.  I have to be fair and reasonable, not just accede to opinion. The spell is pretty specific that the feather fall only applies when the spell ends.  Dispelling causes a spell...

Re: Airwalking  (reply)
I'm not looking at rules, so again this is purely an opinion based reply. If the spell has a feather fall effect built it I do not see it ever *not* applying as a worst case scenario. I mean it even applies if the spell is completely...

Airwalking  (topic)
Is it correct that, unlike a flying creature, an airwalking character can be tripped or knocked prone and this would cause them to fall?  I can see that the spell allows treading on air but I see nothing that says if they decide or...

Re: Time Stop + Delayed Blast Fireball  (reply)
There's only one problem, and it lies in an obscure bit of rules knowledge. SRD:Timed Durations...If a spell’s duration is variable the duration is rolled secretly (the caster doesn’t know how long the spell will last).Time...

Re: Time Stop + Delayed Blast Fireball  (reply)
As near as I can tell, the only defense would be spotting the little red beads before they explode and recognizing them for what they are. How to adjudicate that, I have no idea. But it's a 9th level spell and 1-4 7th level spells, so...

Dang and ow! So, do you see any defense against such an attack; I don't. Wow, just wow. How does this set with your DM? Gregory

What Edition of the game are you playing? I think 3E says you can only cast non-attack spells within timestop. You're right though, that combo is a deadly one. Gregory

Time Stop + Delayed Blast Fireball  (topic)
So, if I cast Time Stop, can I then spend d4+1 rounds walking around casting Delayed Blast Fireballs?   It seems like that could be pretty punishing, if I have up to five rounds to act, I could cast 4 DFBs timed to go off...

Derek those are great examples to base the price from. I may up the effects to those of the bolt shirt, as I had the value around 5000.

Magic Item Compendium has quite a few different examples for this.  Lets see if I can find a few:Anklet of Translocation (1400gp): 2/day, swift action, teleport 10'Bolt Shirt (5000gp): 1/day, move action, teleport 60' (very slight...

This shield duplicates the effects of making your save against a first level spell (Cause Fear) but can do so unlimited times per day. The price depends on two things: 1. Is it loss of half current hit points or half total hit...

The 20% 'miss' chance applied to attacks against the target of Entropic Shield represents that the spell deflects 20% of incoming ranged attacks, not a miss chance due to concealment, correct?  As such, True Strike's negation of...

Wind Walk 3.5  (topic)
