Re: Does Concealment Stack?  (reply)
The math's not *too* bad if you limit things. That is: given 2 effects granting concealment, add the larger + 1/2 the smaller. I just don't think I'd bother with the 3rd etc. effects, because I'd rather keep things simple.

No, concealment doesn't stack: http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Concealment On the surface, I see nothing wrong with your house rule other than being a bit math-y.

Does Concealment Stack?  (topic)
Does Concealment stack or do you simply use the best of whatever is affecting you? If adjacent opponents are within the effects of overlapping Darkness and Fog Cloud spells, do you roll twice for Concealment? Is there ever a point with Concealment that ...

Re: ranged touch spells  (reply)
I suppose you could, I wouldn't allow it, but if you do, then the Coup-de-Graced character would have to make a Fortitude check at DC 10 or die. Surprisingly, there is nothing about whether the attack does damage, only that the target survives the damage ...

My two cents on the locks: In real life, locks can be jammed permanently (requiring replacing the lock) or temporarily (anyone who knows locks can pop the jam out after some work). To keep things simple, though, I'd suggest the following, which are not ...

Re: Gathering some 3.5 resources now that it's all done...  (reply)
A quick note on the Demon/Devil equivalency summons: the idea is to expand what kinds of Demons/Devils can be summoned with a Fiend's Summoning ability. For example, the Jovoc (MMII) is CR 5, but somewhat exotic, so I'd be OK with setting it equivalent to ...

If you're not willing to improve Grease, which is ridiculously weak right now, then this is one of the exceptions. Remember, grease triggers a Reflex saving throw every round you are in the area to avoid falling prone. Casting it on an enemy who's next ...

Re: How long does it take to throw Caltrops? (And other equipment questions)  (reply)
Caltrops: as a compromise, move action for adjacent square, standard action for 1, MAYBE 2 squares away, but 2 squares seems a bit much to me. The reason: caltrops are basically nails twisted together. They're not cotton-ball light; they're ...

Re: How long does it take to throw Caltrops? (And other equipment questions)  (reply)
My two coppers: 1. I'd say standard. (I'd probably go with a Move to pull them and a Standard to deploy them, absent a feat like Quick Draw.) I agree about the adjacent square. 2. I've always treated pitons and iron spikes as pretty much the same ...

1. How long does it take to scatter caltrops on the ground? A Standard action? A Move? Also, do you think caltrops can only be placed in an adjacent square, or is it realistic that they could be tossed 5 ft away (or more?) and still spread effectively? ...
