I was looking at Pathfinder yesterday. Specifically, at the revised skills, and how they'd combine with Iron Heroes. For the most part, things transfer
over pretty well. A couple skillgroups might need minor revisions. But one thing is giving more trouble than all the rest. Concentration has been removed as an
individual skill, and combined with spellcraft, as only casters in 3.x ever used either. In IH, concentration also happens to be the core skill of the
dedicate, which as little to nothing to do with casting.
The most obvious solution is to leave concentration in. This would work, but feels slightly rough, especially for transferring material to and from IH. I like the inclusion of the avoiding spell interruption into spellcraft. This might be ameliorated slightly by putting the spellcasting portion of concentration into spellcraft.
I have been considering rewiring the dedicate to rewire token gain off of a level based system. This would work, but feels slightly flavorless. I like the concept of the dedicate's current token gain, and feel that this destroys it somewhat. Perhaps it could be rewired using a different skill or ability in order to keep the flavor.
So, of the following options, which one would you pick?
Option 1) Leave concentration in as is.
Option 2) Leave concentration in, but place the spellcasting interruption avoidance into spellcraft. Perhaps add in something else to concentration to make it a more complete skill.
Option 3) Base the dedicate's token gain off of level.
Option 4) Base the dedicate's token gain off another skill or ability. Perhaps will?
