Once houserule I keep on considering, but remain undecided about is thus:
Special: If a character takes two of the following three traits, Mighty Build, Tall and Powerful trait, he may forgo the normal benefits from such his traits and be considered size large, and gaining the following benefits and penalties. +2 str, -1 size bonus to AC and attacks, 10 ft reach, double carrying capacity, and a -4 penalty on hide.
It's flavorful, yes. It's powerful, yes. Is it overpowered? Maybe. Is it too good not to take? Potentially.
I can handle it being mildly overpowered. But being too good not to take is a killer.
So, two traits for:
+1 damage from str
+1 avg damage from weapon size
+1 on base attack checks
-1 AC
+1 bonus on str skills
-4 penalty on hide skills.
and extra reach and carrying capacity.
One extra damage and -1 to AC should about cancel each other out. The skill bonus and penalties lean a bit more towards a positive bonus, but not by much. Which leaves extra carrying capacity, reach, and +1 damage/base attack checks for two traits. So, my question to the forums: Would this houseruled trait combination be too powerful?
