Where do you get - or make your buildings form ?

Most of the larger craft stores carry cardstock or paper mache boxes. The small ones are usually 2"x3" and maybe an 1" high, the midsized are
3"x3" and 2" high, and they go up from there. The usually go for a buck or two apiece, but I got lucky and picked up a sackful during a 50%
sale. The plan was to finish the exteriors with balsa and bits and then paint them. I did the exteriors and primed them, but never got around to the
painting, because I haven't had a lot of call for buildings lately. But I was satisfied from a proof of concept standpoint. The initial outlay was about
$4 for the small boxes, plus the balsa and paints I already had. (And actually, the week I bought them we had a encounter in a village and used the boxes
themselves, without detailing, so it's questionable in my mind if the detailing is even required.)
I have some larger boxes that I was planning on turning into big buildings (taverns, forts and the like) but I never got around to it. These would be large enough to do the interiors on. My plan is to make the base separate from the building, so that when the action moves inside the buildings the walls pull away as well so they won't get in the way. While this looks awesome in my mind I've never actually built it, so who knows. |

I've had trend with my buildings lately - as there is space issues, I've tried to make them multi-purpose; One I'm constructing currently is
supposed to be split into room walls, and a few ones I've made work as shelves for smaller terrain pieces. I've even made one that can hang on the
wall! You can see pics of that and other of my buildings at http://www.e2ogame.net/gallery/models/shelfbuilding/
For material, I've build most of 1mm cardboard. |

Ordered some greystock (??) 1mm thick card so hopefully it will be here soon.
What glue would you recommend to use ? |

Oh, the houses are fully scratchbuilt, just inspired by photos etc. I've been using normal PVA glue, meant for glueing wood. It's good to reinforce
cardboard well without painting and trying to avoid to wet paints, as they tend to distort the cardboard. The big grey house btw is made from a brown box
cardboard.

SeanKhan, those are outstanding.
Do you use them often? (For example, is the "town square" a usual area for adventuring? Do you frequently set up the area for non-combat situations?) If I spent hours crafting terrain and buildings (or $$ purchasing) I'd have the urge to try to use them as much as possible.

My card arrived today and I have my glue ready !!!
Only problem is ..... I planned to print the builidngs that Imhave downloaded onto the card and it won't fit in my printer ! Gah !! I have a inkjet printer here at home (the card is too think for that I think) but a laser printer I could use at work - would that work better ? Or do I need a "specialist printer ?? |

I honestly have no idea but I'm all for using the work printer to test it out. Just make sure there are no witnesses and you have a fall guy if the
printer breaks.

I have a color laser at the house here, and while its a much better deal to print (no "ink" to dry up, or incep dates), it doesn't print as
nicely as my old inkjet, and its a high priced device. I chose to buy it anyway, knowing that, purely because I don't print enough to keep buying ink
because my old ink isn't "usable" anymore.
