I have netflix, which has a wealth of MST3K dvds. I put some on my queue, and the first arrived yesterday. It was the one for Manos: The Hands of Fate. I didn't think the MST3K treatment was very good, mostly because the source material was already so terrible. Given this past experience, I don't want to waste time watching each and every MST3K since I can only get them one at a time and then it's a few days wait for the next. So out of all the MST3K shows, which do y'all think are the best? And heck, I'll also ask which ones should I avoid?

Agree on Manos: The Hands of Fate (though that movie is so incredibly bad it's hard to watch even with the jokes). I'll try to find the page where they're rated by fans.

A few are misses (especially 2, 3 and maybe 4), but the ones with the songs are pretty good as Cthon says. The last one, IIRC, includes Mike Nelson as Morrissey as part of the invention exchange (celebrity tupperware), with one of my favorite non-film bits: "I wrote this song during a sad time of my life: breakfast. I cried last night, I cri-i-i-ed..." "We've got movie sign!"
