Suppose something used the Nexus as its means for multiverse conquest?

It seems to me that the aliptur of Yragon could evolve so as to take over several races, as they have already taken over the grahlus. Using the grahlus as their footsoldiers, they could set themselves up as the "founders" of a multiplanar "dominion".

And they'd want to control all means into their set of planes, because they'd not wish to be cured by itinerant alien priests.

This would mean pushing the aliptur's home plane "behind" Yragon. There would be a secret portal to it in the main palace.

Explanation (skip this if you like)-

Okay, I stole the whole idea from DS9. But damned if it's not a good idea!

A few months ago I watched all the seasons of Star Trek's "Deep Space 9". Essentially the show is split into two halves. In the first part, it's a sort of Western where the Wormhole is used to connect the border outpost with "indian territory". In the latter part, the Wormhole is a strategic asset, as the major races on each side realise that it's the only feasible route of access to each other's, er, dominion.

(In all parts of the show, there are subplots with the Mirror Universe, Bajor, Cardassia, the Ferengi, and so forth which do not deal with the Wormhole; I'm not bothering with them here.)

I would argue that DS9 only really found its footing when its authors realised that the Wormhole was a bottleneck.

This got me thinking about the Ethereal Sea of BCD versus the Nexus of BoEM3 and BCD. The Ethereal Sea is like deep space; you can go anywhere it is practical to go. The Nexus hooks only into specific points; it is, like the DS9 Wormhole, a bottleneck.

One could even involve DS9's "prophets" through the Nexus plane of Riv Ruallithash (but one would probably get sued).

Most of the Nexus points are podunks where the locals can develop their special magics, and negotiate with outside researchers, in relative peace. I can't see anyone in Glenmasis (BoEM3) or Palpatur, Tevaeral, and Curnorost (BCD) bothering anyone else. Ditto Wordor and Xeraph (if you follow this).

But if something evil should take over the Nexus, it's got direct access to all that and more.

The D'Stradi demons of BoEM3 are an obvious potential problem, but I suspect that the powers-that-be in the Nexus would yank the connection if something that aggressive were to get anywhere near it. (Even the rulers of BCD's Maze like the Nexus the way it is.) Of the others, only Ba-Nor-Al might also have an interest in the other side of the Nexus; but we know very little about it, so I'll leave that for others...

The plane most likely to use the Nexus for conquest, and to get away with it, in BCD / B0EM3 is Yragon.
