        <![CDATA[ A current thread about game design and game mechanics has generated some discussion about older editions of D&amp;D.

I started with Basic D&amp;D (blue box), but quickly moved onto AD&amp;D. How about you?


Note: I didn&#39;t include 1.5 (Unearthed Arcana), 2.5 (Option books), or 3.5 (revised 3e) as choices. Also, there were certainly differences between the
editions of BECMI, but I put them together since their overall text remained about the same.
