I also got a room at the Omni at that rate. I took it from someone who cancelled his room.

Just an fyi, I canceled my room and booked with another person at the Omni for much cheaper ($160 per night for the room including taxes and everything). For some reason when I booked through Expedia the room taxes and hotel tax was a lot of money, almost an extra $50-75 dollars.

In any case, if you're still looking for a room I'd head to the Gencon community forums and say you are looking. There are still lots of people who have plans fall through or who are looking for...

Rooms on their website may not be available, or may be available for either a higher rate or no refund if you cancel.

i was checking the hyatt website.. expedia i imagine gets given an allocation and will show as sold out when it isnt actually. (well i know that is the case with wotif a site i use here)

Yeah, I specifically got the Mariott because of the full kitchen and fridge. There are groceries around for sure and I'll have lots of time on Wednesday to look.

The room was $1316 exactly Candadian for 4 nights. Like I said, I took it because it's a big room (fits 3 well) and has a full kitchen but maybe I made a mistake.

When you say the Conrad is $200 per night,...

DarkHero, I'm gonna take the week-end to think it over.

I'm guessing from your post that the room costs $1224 for 4 nights. Is that exact? I don't care much about how many people share the room, but I do want a full bed to myself.

The Conrad has rooms. It's closer and cheaper (I found a website with rooms around 200$/night), but it does not have a kitchen area. Is there a supermarket where I could buy some grocery items?
