A few notes:

This adventure is meant to take characters from 3rd level to 4th level.
It's fairly combat-heavy. That said, there are certainly role-playing opportunities and non-combat encounters.
Feel free to ask if there's something I'm doing that you don't like.
Dice rolling: use a die roller and post it if you want to, otherwise I will. Things that would slow the game down (like initiative) or otherwise you shouldn't know the results of I...

If you like PbP, then you might be interested in a D&D 3rd Edition MUSH. What is a MUSH you say? Well, it's sorta like a chatroom, except it has functionality for locations, posing and rolling dice and whatnot, it's a great place to Roleplay. The mechanics can be a bit annoying sometimes, but I'd say it's worth it, it's kinda like PbP but it's realtime. What do you want? Theme=wise, that is. A specific villain you're interested in, a specific destiny, general ideas, whatever. I'm working something up to DM, but it's malleable for now. So if you haven't found a game yet, post here.

This vote is for DMs only, and it will only be open until Friday morning, 9:00 am so that we can get closure on this.

The consensus that was nearly reached in the Rules forum was that "Brick, Core + Might" is allowed for character creation, specifically:

All options in the Ptolus big book (This actually means that Chaositech is permitted, btw)

All options (except races) in Players Handbook
All non-variant options...

Ok, it's been a while since I've been able to play D&D. All my friends either have kids, are married, getting married, having kids, getting divorces, have real jobs (Like I do), work late nights (again...) and my weekends are spent in New Orleans with my GF. In short, no way can I manage to get even some people together weekly or even biweekly to play for a few hours at a time.

So I'm Jonesing and needing a RP fix. This PTolus Play-By-Post thing looks cool, however...

Somebody needs to create a to-be-stickied thread in here explaining what this Forum is all about for anyone dropping by after this initial surge. Y'know, explain what our intentions are for this Living Ptolus thing, how games are run, character creation rules for those who want to play, info for those who want to DM, and whatever else makes sense.

I'm actually thinking that Edal should be the one to do this, since he's pretty much been the founder and lead organizer of...

Let me start with a blurb about my DMing style, then explain a bit about the scope of the adventure. The second half of this post will be the IC start to the adventure.

I think I'm pretty easy-going and liberal in what I let my players attempt. Essentially, I'm of the view that if something is fun it should be attempted, the more heroic/daring a character is the greater the result should be. I find that games get bogged down by traps and puzzles that require Search or Disarm...
