Question about Goodman Games

I've been off the web for a while in one of my funks, and I just went on DTRPG and noticed that Castle Whiterock is for sale for $10. Now, the sale is the sale, but Castle Whiterock. The Castle Whiterock that was supposedly discontinued because Goodman Games signed that contract to get first dibs on 4e materials. What happened? Why can Goodman sell their 3e/d20 pdfs again? Not that I'm complaining. I'm just interested in knowing the why of it.

Hey, everyone. I hope all of you are having an enjoyable Holiday Season.

I decided to celebrate by divorcing my ancient computer upstairs from Windows.

Buying a mac to replace it is out of the question, though getting a mac was considered.

I need a new OS. One that can be installed by an idiot (aka no manual transfers of .dll files or anything crazy. Partitioning of hard drives is about my level of expertise.).

I would consider reinstalling windows...

About four months ago, my group and I decided to make the leap from 3.5 to 4e. While we had fun (the campaign is particularly entertaining), during our last session's pizza break, we had a long and honest talk about how everyone was feeling about 4e, and the final verdict was that, even though we saw 4e as a good game, it wasn't really working for us. A few moments later we were printing 3.5 sheets and trying to figure out how to translate the characters back.

For several years, I have been running a play by post game on a blog run by powerblogs. Unfortunately, powerblogs is going out of business. I want to migrate all of our back posts to a new site that will work well for a pbp game. Ideally, the site would also have document hosting capabilities for character sheets, equipment lists, etc.

What suggestions do people have?

The next game on our slate of games to try was Shadowrun, 4th edition. I chose to run the Food Fight 4.0 scenario from the Quick-Start rules. I added an encounter with a Mr. Johnson at the beginning of the adventure to serve as a framework.
