I didnt realise until reading this blog post that this book was released in the US under Sorcerer's Stone where in the rest of the world it was the Philosophers Stone

I originally read the blog post title and thought it was a parody book or something

Hey guys,

I noticed that Monte picked up this from the con. I am going to be running some pathfinder stuff coming up in a bit online. Whats the take on this thing? How useful is it for canned adventures? I would love to have tools that help me keep things moving, and I don't have as much time to prep as I should.

Your recaps are a fun read, Monte-as are all the others from JediSoth, varianor, and everyone. I noticed one thing missing-Sue! Was this the first time since the old Wizards days that both Cooks didn't attend? I missed being there but it helps to get this second hand experience of the games, events, dinners, etc.

There's nothing on that channel that interests me anymore. I don't even tune in. The "monster of the week" movies are terrible, and the name is just as you said: a declaration that they want to run away from the very thing they're supposed to be about.

Hopefully, they will eventually change management and someone will try making real science fiction movies at the same pace they produce those awful monster flicks. Hopefully someone will realize that series...

There was a column by Monte explaining how the "faux book" appearance of the core books was in part the responsibility of the designers and how he regreted it in favor of some lively artwork depicting adventurers doing something engaging to the reader of the book. If I remember well, it had to do with some appreciation of the Draconomicon.

Could someone link me to said column? I tried several googling exercises and failed. Hence my plea here.

Again I can relate to Monte's experiences, as I read many of King's early books in my late high school and early college days, but didn't keep up with his later works. It just seemed like there were so many of them that I lost track.

Bond, James Bond

Roger Moore was also my first Bond and, like you, I wouldn't describe myself as a fan, per se, though I enjoy Bond movies. I just don't go out of my way to see them. I still have Casino Royale sitting, in its wrapper, on my DVD shelf.

To this day, the only Roger Moore Bond movie I can watch repeatedly is For Your Eyes Only. Maybe because it's the first Bond film I remember seeing.

Never have been a fan of April Fool either. I am all for a good joke, but virtually all are just boring. The reason why MonetCook was so incredibly cool was because of the time put into it, real obvious and because it just looked cool. It is like the funny April Dragon articles. I'm trying to track down a blog post that (I think) Monte wrote on his site a really long time ago - it was called "Monte's Top Ten Rules for DMing", or "Monte's Rules of Dungeon Mastery", or something similar. Does anyone remember this? It was a list of advice Monte had on how to collect a group of friends for your D&D...

Dollhouse

I hated the first episode of Dollhouse too. I really wanted to like it, but just didn't.

I think the problem is, the main character, Echo literally does not have a personality. It very hard to empathize with a character without personality. There was also a vague feeling of "hasn't someone already done a show like this", even though I couldn't think of one off the top of my head.

I have the 2nd episode on DVR, I'll give the series about...

I've also found that my dogs don't understand pointing, although I've found them almost 100% at it if I point with my foot. Another theory, from a book I just finished reading about speaking "Dogish" suggests that dogs point with their heads, so we should say "Get your ball" and then turn our heads towards the ball. I've always noticed that when I point at somthing, my dog just looks at me... I'll have to try out pointing with my head.
